About us

Expectant mothers will be automatically referred into the health visiting service. When your baby is born, the health visiting team will receive automatic notification from the hospital. A health visitor will make contact with you and arrange to meet with you. At this visit, you will be able to discuss with  your visiting health visitor how often you would like to be seen and where this contact happens. If you move into the area after your child is born, your new GP will let us know you have registered and we will make contact within 14 days of receiving the information from your new GP practice. Should your child be over five years of age, the school nursing service will receive details that you child has transferred into school. The school nurse will make contact with you on school entry at four to five years of age.
